Add some vintage chic to your kitchen instantly by hanging up one of Rachelle’s wonderfully kitsch aprons from an old wooden peg. Complete the look by also hanging up mis-matched old baskets or fabric totes and use to store household bits and pieces.

Yorkshire-based designer maker Rachelle Blondel studied fashion at college which gave her invaluable design and pattern cutting know-how when she decided to set up her own accessories label – ted and agnes - after the birth of her third child.
What sets you apart? ‘Each piece is unique and although the design is the same, the fabric combinations are never repeated. That is the beauty of using vintage or recycled fabrics – you never know what is going to come along. They all have their own story… the buttons from an old overcoat or a doily that sat on a dressing table for 30 years, those curtains that shut out the world at the end of each day… Then I make something new and on they go again and start a new journey.
What’s the hard bit? ‘It’s very important to me to use locally sourced or materials from British businesses which can be difficult at times. If I do use new materials, I buy direct from a nearby factory where I have seen the print process and from a local thread supplier. And I always road test each design before selling it… putting it through its paces to ensure it’s up to the job. I have a lot of bags!
