Working from a converted studio at her Leicestershire home, Rosie Ward designs and creates a very special range of blankets for babies.
What’s special about your collection? Each square of a Smitten patchwork blanket is individually knitted then pressed, assembled and washed before being backed with carefully selected woven fabric and wadded to make it extra cosy.
Tell us about the materials you use:The yarn I use for all Smitten products has been specially developed for babies by Sirdar, it is a natural blend of 20% wool and 80% bamboo. The wool adds warmth to the yarn, whilst the eco-friendly bamboo fibres give it an incredibly soft and gentle handle.
The yarn keeps its quality with gentle machine washing. All Smitten products are pre-washed.
Favourite piece? The Ruby blanket. I love its bold colour combinations…and I was thrilled when I found the backing fabric that complimented the knitted strawberry motifs so well!
