A jewellery graduate from Central St Martins in London, Louise Taylor designs and hand makes her range of contemporary silver jewellery at her home in Dorset under her own label, Platina jewellery.
Favourite piece? ‘I don’t have a favourite single piece but I do steer towards those that can be seen by the wearer, such as a bangle or ring. I think it’s important for the wearer to enjoy their piece and appreciate its form.’
What lengths do you go to in order to get it right? ‘I have fired enamel colours countless times to achieve the desired shade.’
What inspires you? Outdoor life – whether it be in the park or on the beach with my children, in a café with friends or coming across unusual furniture and interiors. My pieces use organic subjects stylised into very simple forms.
