retro-vintage inspired greetings cards and stationery printed in the UK
It is Sarah Oubridge’s huge collection of ephemera from the 30s and 40s that inspires her stunning range of greetings cards and stationery, all designed and printed in the UK.
‘I love assembling old graphics and imagery from a long-gone era and then breathing new life back into them,’ says Sarah.
After laying out the design for a card, she will then transfer this to a computer program which allows her to manipulate the final design, changing colours, backgrounds and layout until she is totally happy. ‘I create cards all the time,’ says Sarah. ‘But they have to be really special to make it to the printers. The exciting bit is when a batch comes back and I get to finish them in a pretty envelope.’
Working from a studio at her home in London, Sarah’s passion for what she does really shows. ‘I think my cards are special because they are little pieces of history blasted into the modern, quick world. They come from a time of real imagination as well as wonderful care and attention to detail. And I love that I am never short of a card to send to friends!’
