‘I love to mix and match my products,’ says Lucy. ‘Never be afraid to put bold colours together or with neutrals as this can make a statement and really stand out. A home is all about having fun with the interior, so experiment!’

Strikingly original and contemporary handmade cushions and tote bags
Mixing line drawings with photographic imagery, Hampshire-based design graduate Lucy Gilchrist has a unique style that stands out from the crowd. Inspired by nature and with a highly original and contemporary edge, Lucy’s cushions will inject fresh new life into a tired interior and as for her shoppers… well as soon as we saw them at LTM, we all wanted one!
Favourite piece?
My flamingo cushion. I love the bright pink birds in their different positions. It makes me smile every time I look at them and brings back childhood memories of the bright lights on Margate seafront and the Flamingo arcades.
What’s the best bit of what you do?
Being creative and experimenting with colour and pattern. I love seeing my drawings being transferred to silk screens and the products come to life once I’ve printed them.
What’s special about your collection?
I try to be as eco-friendly as possible by using solvent-free inks, sourcing from the UK and I recycle wherever I can. The lovely thing about screen printing is that each piece is unique.
