For Lucianna Gallucci, producing her exquisite range of ceramics allows her to combine a love of drawing and painting with the more hands-on side of ceramics. ‘If I feel like I want to get my hands dirty I make pots,’ she says. ‘If I feel like I need to play with colour I paint. What gets me the most excited is when someone looks at my work and says how much they like it and where they have visualised it fitting in to their home. That’s it for me. The connection is made.’ Made for practical use, much of Lucianna’s collection has a nostalgic quality. Favourite piece: ‘I remember finding wild flowers as a child and keeping them in jam jars,’ says Lucianna. ‘Making the jam jars ceramic makes them more personal and adds an individual twist.’
