Karen Hilton started her own business on a very small scale in 2003 and set about turning her design ideas into reality. In 2009 she made the move from London to a studio of her own in Wales.
How would you describe your designs? Bright and poppy. Quite graphic really. Simple and bold works best with felt designs and I love colour!
Favourite piece? Always the next design in my head. But I do owe a lot to my Union Jack design. It’s my best seller and has kept me afloat!
Do you spend a lot of time fine-tuning designs? Once I get an idea, it’s hard for me to sleep until I’m at a point where I can think that’s right. In the morning I always change it!
What’s special about your collection? Everything is hand made, high quality and fun! I also get all my materials from UK suppliers wherever possible.
Love what you do? Absolutely! I could never work for someone else now! I love being my own boss and now I’m in Wales of all places, I get the beach and space for a veggie patch!
