Insider Ideas
To add a seaside feel to a simple white interior (maybe for a little boy’s bedroom) try grouping a trio of ocean-themed images: beach huts, the boat, and the sea horse in simple white frames. Fresh, contemporary and utterly original!

Inky Rose

Charming hand-printed artwork with a simple, naïve quality finished by hand and individually signed
Sussex-based friends and professional illustrators Jill Latter and Jill Mercer set up in business together in 2010 as a way to combine their talents and create something new.
How do you work? We start with the main image in black ink using our own wood blocks and, when dry, we add a vibrant wash of watercolour ink. Then we add the pencil detail and hand write the title of the piece on the mount and sign it. Each piece is totally original and hand crafted by us.
What inspires you? As two individual artists, ideas often come to us through our separate projects and then, over several cups of tea, they’ll be worked through together to create something in the InkyRose style.
What’s special? We are passionate about what we do and believe that we have created something new and exciting with a unique, crafted quality. We are able to add in a special message or a name as an alternative to the standard title, if so requested.
Favourite? We are both particularly fond of Home is Where the Heart is and Busy Buzzy Bees as these were our original signature pieces when we first started out.
