I fell in love with these quirky pieces of jewellery, they are so unusual! A great retro feel and very wearable at any age. I bought the Keep Calm and Carry On set and everyone asks me where I got them from. The flash of red goes really well with a navy and white striped jacket I bought recently.

Hoolala
Eclectic handmade jewellery featured in The Wonder Room at Selfridges
Whilst working as a graphic designer in 2004, Sam Gannaway Jones was asked about the jewellery she was wearing during a meeting with some clients. When she told them she’d made the pieces herself, the clients (who were setting up a luxury spa) instantly commissioned a collection to sell there… which promptly sold out. In 2006, Sam decided to set up her own independent label.
What makes your range special? I am passionate about originality, quality and five-star customer service. Hoolala is a unique and unusual label which is, as one of my customers once said, ‘beautiful and a little bit scary’.
Is there anything you are particularly proud of?
My Alice in Wonderland collection has just recently been featured in The Wonder Room at Selfridges in London. I also created a collection that was showcased in Jared Gold’s Czarina runway show in LA.
Where do you find inspiration? I love the stirrings of an idea you get when you are maybe wandering round a gallery or museum. I make pieces that tell little stories and are sculptural. It just so happens that they are things you can wear rather than hang on the wall.
