Now based in Yorkshire, ex fashion designer Laura Vickers began selling her prints at London’s hip and happening Brick Lane. Using the finest, eco-responsible materials, Laura’s collection, under her own label, Dear Prudence, is whimsical and quirky… and already a huge favourite at LTM.
Favourite design? ‘I love my new collection In the Woods because it’s individual and fun. I also love Fox Trot as it is a great card for any occasion and men love it!’
What inspires you? ‘Coming from a fashion background, I take inspiration from 50’s and 60’s bold fabric prints as well as intricate antique lace. I also love books on birds and British wildlife.’
What makes your range special? My cards are unique and unlike anything else on the market. It has taken months of work to source beautiful card made in the Lake District, 100% recycled envelopes and biodegradable packaging.
Best bit of what you do? ‘I love the time when I can sit and draw. A fresh sketchbook and pencil – there’s nothing better! It is very satisfying working for yourself and I am proud of having the courage to go it alone!’
