Although all Caroline’s pieces are totally practical – and even dishwasher proof –we think they also hold their own as pieces of art because of their simple sculptural quality. A row of three ‘small handbuilt jugs with flowers’ looks totally stunning along a mantelpiece or windowsill.
Caroline Green
porcelain pottery with dots or impressed leaves and subtle translucent glazes
When we came across Caroline Green’s exquisite pottery we simply had to have it for lasso the moon. Working from her studio in Hampshire, Caroline really does put her heart and soul into every piece she creates.
‘I can’t wait to get up in the morning, quickly make the bed, straighten the sofa and get to the studio as quickly as possible,’ she says. ‘Once I’m at work, I become oblivious to the outside world. I often forget to eat and make endless cups of coffee that go cold.’
This passion for what she does is evident when you look at Caroline’s collection. Typically, pieces combine clean lines with simple decoration – dots or impressed leaves - and subtle translucent glazes.
‘Finding the perfect finish took much experimentation,’ she says. ‘I chose to work in translucent porcelain for tableware and beautiful parian porcelain for candle holders. My favourite piece is the small handbuilt jug with the flower on the side. So simple. I love it.’
We think this collection is something very special and we know you will too.
