Handmade accessories combining contemporary British design with vintage French chic
Working from a design studio near York, Kirstin Hodgson is the face behind Angel Linens, a firm favourite with the glossy interiors magazines since she launched her business in the late 90s.
Best bit about what you do? Using vintage fabrics in my designs means that I can create something new and unique every single time. And it makes me happy that our collection breathes new life into pieces that have already been loved.
What’s special? As well as being unique and handmade, we go to great lengths to ensure that every piece we make meets our exacting high standards. We fill our cushions with luxury feather pads from a British supplier, source antique buttons to finish our cushions and scented hearts, and we use un-dyed French lavender for a more natural, purer and longer lasting fragrance inside our scented products.
What inspires you? For me it’s always about the vintage fabrics: the brightly coloured stripes of antique French mattress tickings conjure up images of deckchairs, bunting and circus tents. The faded florals of antique chintz and toiles evoke afternoon teas, bone china cups and bowls full of old-fashioned roses.
