Who are we?
Founder of the business, Laura Dunkley, has over 15 years’ experience as a lifestyle journalist on a wide range of national women’s magazines – including two years as editor of the M&S magazine.
‘Lasso the moon allows me to indulge my passion for spotting design talent, whilst putting my media experience to good use,’ says Laura.
“I find it thrilling to hit upon someone producing something truly fresh and exciting amongst all the so-what and mass-produced stuff around. It’s hugely satisfying to bring our customers the wonderful things we find – and to hear that they love our collections as much as we do!”

What’s with the name?
The name comes from the classic film It’s a Wonderful Life (RKO, 1946).
“What is it you want, Mary? What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and I’ll throw a lasso around it and pull it down.”
We felt this fitted perfectly with our commitment to scour the country in our tireless quest to bring our customers an unrivalled collection of very special gifts and accessories, all made with heart and soul by hand-picked UK designers and makers.
